Digital Safety From The Beginning
While checking emails, a surprising email was sent stating reserve your child’s first private email from Proton.
Proton (https://proton.me) a company based in Switzerland in 2014 when a team of scientists who met at CERN with a vision to provide a freedom to use the internet again. Here is a snippet from their site:
“We advance society by advancing freedom
At Proton, our social mission is at the heart of all we do. We believe in building an internet that works for people and not just for profit. But our work extends beyond our mission and service offering.”
Which brings me to the conclusion that if companies truly cared about data integrity even at the youngest age this would of been an option eons ago. Nevertheless Proton’s mission is consistent all around building a E2EE eco-system that gives end users the ability to not worry about their data exposed to ads, weird algorithms, and email services reading your plain text data.
I will continue to support their mission and that goes for anyone else that focuses on privacy and giving secure alternatives to FAANG’s applications.
There shouldn’t be a compromise on safety for the means of monetary gain or profit.
